In spite of that, all the shops selling liquor, cigarettes, beedi gutkha, drugs, have been kept completely closed, but despite this, the stocks of liquor shops have disappeared from closed shops.
This has been shockingly disclosed after the complaints received by the Excise Department. Excise Department officials are now formulating a strategy to check the stock of liquor shops after the lockdown is lifted.
Excise officials say action will be taken against the concerned shop operators if the stock is found to be more or less in the liquor shops. Also, all liquor shops are closed due to lockdown, but despite this, illegal sale of liquor is rampant at high prices.
Shop operators are selling liquor to people in black for ten times the price. Such complaints have also reached the excise authorities themselves. Now, taking this matter seriously, the officers have been engaged in the investigation.
In this connection, excise Inspector Ravi Shankar Gupta has said that there have been complaints of sale of liquor in black. The stock of liquor is also reported to be missing from several shops. All liquor shops will be checking as soon as the lockdown is lifted. Action will also be taken against the concerned shop operator when the stock is found disrupted.
