The coronavirus pandemic has led to complete lockdown across the country, giving people only passes for necessary items. There are some people who are misusing this pass. When a car was stopped by the police at Kalka Ji station while checking near Nehru Place flyover, the police recovered liquor.
The police have also arrested a man named Faijal Mirza involved in the incident.
In fact, due to lockdown, Delhi police have set up barricades for checking the place and the police stopped an Innova car near the Nehru Place flyover at around 8:00 pm on Sunday night. The Innova car was fitted with an e-pass sticker from the Revenue Department of the Delhi government, which is issued only for essential services.
The person who was sitting in the car did not even have a mask. When the man in the car was questioned by the police, he could not give a satisfactory response and when the police searched the car, the police recovered 56 bottles of imported liquor from inside.
The police team, which was checking the barricades, informed SHO Sandeep Ghai of Kalkaji police station and the accused was taken to the police station. When he was questioned, he said that he was carrying such a huge consignment of liquor to sell.
As DCP South East Rajendra Prasad Meena believed, Faijal used to take order of liquor on WhatsApp and then sell the liquor at a double rate. Not only that, the police are now trying to find out how the man named Faijal Mirza brought such a quantity of liquor and how he was released e-pass.
