CPI to hold massive rally in Patna on October 25, claims support of opposition parties

In view of Lok Sabha elections 2019 and to ensure the defeat of BJP-led NDA in polls, several national leaders of the Left and other like-minded parties will participate in the state-level Communist Party of India (CPI) rally ‘Bhajpa Bhagao, Desh Bachao’ to be held Patna at Gandhi Maidan on October 25. Leader of opposition in Bihar assembly Tejashwi Prasad, former Union Minister Sharad Yadav, Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, former JNUSU President Kanhaiya Kumar, former CM and Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) Chief Jitan Ram Manjhi, Samajwadi Party senior functionary and former Union minister Devendra Prasad Yadav and General Secretaries of the CPI, CPM and CPI (ML) including Sitaram Yechury will participate in the rally.

State secretary of CPI Satya Narayan Singh told the media, the main agenda of the rally is to provide ground for the formation of a democratic and secular alliance in the state.

“Invitation had also been sent to Congress president Rahul Gandhi but he had not consented yet. State Congress president Madan Mohan Jha and party’s campaign committee chairman and Rajya Sabha member would participate in the rally”, he stated.
