The government of India has constituted a Group of Ministers (GoM) to investigate the allegations and charges related to sexual harassment at the workplace. Union minister for Women and Child Development (WCD) Maneka Gandhi is part of the GoM led by the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
The Group of Ministers (GoM) is led by Rajnath Singh along with Maneka Gandhi, Nitin Gadkari, and Nirmala Sitharaman as its members.
The government has formed GoM to strengthen the legal and institutional framework to deal with and prevent #SexualHarassmentAtWork, in accordance with WCD ministry.
The main aim and mission of this committee are to provide a conducive work environment for women.
The Government will act accordingly on the report submitted by the committee (GoM) and take up measures to prevent and stop such harassment against women.
Union Minister for Women and Child Development Maneka Gandhi is serious about the issue and had suggested the government earlier to form a committee of retired judges to look into the matter. She has updated the government decision on Twitter.
