Crew member Ram Kumar dies in accident on film set of Shahid Kapoor starrer ‘Kabir Singh’

Crew member Ram Kumar dies in accident on film set of Shahid Kapoor, Kiara Advani's 'Kabir Singh'

In an unfortunate accident, a crew member identified as Ram Kumar died on the sets of the film Kabir Singh, starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani, in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand yesterday.

The accident took place before the commencement of the shooting.

According to the reports, the 35-year-old Kumar, who was responsible for checking the generator being used for the shoot at the film sets, was checking the water level in the generator when his muffler got entangled in the generator’s fan and in the process, Kumar too was pulled in.

He sustained serious injuries on his head following which he was immediately rushed to Max Hospital in Dehradun. He was put on the ventilator for a few hours before he passed away.

Extending condolence on Kumar’s unfortunate demise, the producers of the film, Cine1 Studios and T Series Films, in a joint statement, said, “We are deeply saddened by the loss. We are extending our deepest sympathies to the family of Mr Ram Kumar. We are offering support to the family in the immediate aftermath of this tragic event.

Film Kabir Singh, produced by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani, Krishan Kumar and Ashwin Varde, is remake of South film Arjun Reddy.  For the uninitiated, Arjun Reddy revolved around a young medical student in love, who decides to follow a self-destructive path of alcohol and drugs after he is separated from his woman.

The film is slated to be released on June 21 this year.
