Darbhanga is one of the 5 constituencies in Bihar to go on polls in the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2019 on Monday, April 29. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded Gopal Ji Thakur, while Abdul Bari Siddiqui is Rashtriya Janata Dal’s candidate.
The voting for Bihar’s 40 parliamentary seats will take place across seven phases for the 2019 general elections with the first phase taking place on April 11. The last phase will be held on May 19.
In 2014, BJP’s Kirti Azad defeated RJD candidate Md Ali Asraf Fatmi.
According to Election Commission of India 2009 data the total electorates in the Darbhanga Parliamentary constituency were 1,307,067 of which 601,794 are females and 705,273 are males.

In Phase IV of the voting for the 17th Lok Sabha, elections will take place in 71 Lok Sabha constituencies across 9 states. Voting for this phase will take place on April 29. While, like all the other phases, counting will take place in May 23.
