Days after horrific HKV incident goes viral, Police to ban ladies’ night

Two days after a woman shared a horrific incident she witnessed at Hauz Khas Village (HKV) in Delhi on Twitter, Delhi Police is considering to ban ladies’ nights at clubs at HKV. According to police such parties ‘disturb law and order situation’.

The move may cause ending up night-party culture at Hauz Khas as bars and restaurants will be shut. But as of now, the police have appealed to ban ladies’ night till Independence Day.

According to a Navbharat Times report, South Delhi’s DCP, Ishwar Singh confirmed that there are pubs and bars in Hauz Khas Village that host night parties for women on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. This trend affects the law and order in the vicinity. All such establishments will be asked to stop hosting such nights, he said. Directions are also being sent to the SHO of the concerned police station.

On Thursday morning, a woman on Twitter who goes by the handle @kibbanoir shared a horrific incident wherein a few men were trying to abduct a woman from the popular hang-out hub. This raised serious questions on the law and order situation in the national capital.
