In a disturbing video that has surfaced, a Nigerian national is seen allegedly tied up and brutally beaten in New Delhi. No one came to his rescue as people continued beating him up with sticks.

The man was allegedly caught stealing from a house in Malviya Nagar in South Delhi last month. After being beaten, he was jailed.

Reportedly, he was caught inside the house of Krishna Kumar in the early hours of 24 September. When he was handed over to the police that day, he was severely wounded and barely conscious.

The video shows the man with his feet tied to a lamp post, begging for mercy as he is being attacked by people with sticks.

The Nigerian national is heard saying, “Forgive me!” with his hands folded. However, his pleads have no effect on the attackers.

He was then taken to the police with injuries to his head, face, limbs and back. The police say after he was treated in a hospital, he was produced before a judge who sent him to jail.

The police say action will be taken against the attackers based on the video.
