Man escaping robbers beaten to death on suspicion of being child lifter in Delhi’s Ashok Nagar

Police said, a case has been registered and the incident is currently under investigation.

In a horrific incident that took place in Delhi’s Ashok Nagar area, a man was thrashed to death on suspicion of being child lifter.

It started when Gopal went to the nearby railway track to relieve himself where few miscreants tried to commit robbery, the former ran towards slums and escaped the scene. Here, people took him to be a child lifter and beat him badly. He was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital.

Police said, a case has been registered and the incident is currently under investigation. Three accused have been sent to judicial custody.

Over the last few months, various cases of attacks on suspicion of child lifting have emerged. Earlier in another of mob lynching in Jharkhand on Wednesday, an elderly was beaten to death by villagers on suspicion of being a child lifter in Sahibganj district. The incident took place in Mandro’s Mirzachoki police station area where tribals allegedly beat the unidentified man.
