Delhi-Dehradun Expressway:The newly active parking hub in Delhi’s Gandhi Nagar zone is expected to bring real relief to commuters as well as transport operators who depend on the high-traffic Delhi–Dehradun Expressway corridor. This shift is happening while the daily travelers and the commercial vehicle drivers are filing more and more congestion complaints , especially on one of North India’s fast-scaling highway routes.
The Delhi–Dehradun Expressway, basically a flagship build meant to squeeze the travel window between Delhi and Dehradun down to nearly 2.5 hours, has already changed how people move across the National Capital Region (NCR), western Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Delhi–Dehradun Expressway: Major Project Highlights
The Delhi–Dehradun Expressway sits among India’s most ambitious road projects and it also bundles a bunch of practical engineering and environmental features. As per the updates that are currently available:
- Overall length: 210 km
- Time saving: From roughly 5–6 hours, down to around 2.5 hours
- Number of lanes: 6 lanes, with the possibility to expand up to 8
- Wildlife corridor: An elevated stretch spanning Rajaji National Park
- Regional connectivity gain for Delhi, Baghpat, Saharanpur, Haridwar, and Dehradun areas
- Total parking capacity: 3,000 vehicles
- Parking split: Space for 1,200 cars along with 1,800 two-wheelers
- Parking facility built under the Delhi–Dehradun Expressway
Parking Fee
- Four-wheelers: Rs 20 per hour
- Two-wheelers: Rs 10 per hour
The expressway also kind of knits itself into major NCR transport corridors, including the Delhi-Meerut Expressway and Eastern Peripheral Expressway, so it does not feel separate.
Toll Rates on Delhi-Meerut Expressway Revised: 5% Hike Effective April 1, 2026
Expected Facility
While the detailed official tariff notifications for the Gandhi Nagar parking hub are still being awaited, the local civic parking facilities in Delhi generally use hourly, and also daily pricing formats depending on vehicle category and how long the vehicle stays there.
The new facility is expected to include, some combination of:
- CCTV surveillance
- Dedicated entry and exit points
- Smart parking management systems
- Commercial vehicle parking zones
- Two wheeler and four wheeler sections
- Digital payment options
Officials are likely to publish the finalized rates and the operational guidelines once the full scale rollout is done, and everything stabilizes.
NCR Connectivity Push
Delhi’s broader infrastructure expansion strategy is getting more and more centered on expressways, logistics upgrades, and urban mobility solutions. Recent assessments have pointed out Delhi’s strong performance in logistics infrastructure, warehousing, digital systems, and transport integration, overall.
