Delhi Police has registered a case against a man who allegedly spat on a woman

In an appalling incident reported from Delhi’s Vijay Nagar, a middle-aged man spat over a girl from Manipur and shouted ‘corona’ at her before fleeing on his scooty.

A Twitter user took to the platform and shared about the incident that took place. A Manipuri girl at Vijay Nagar, Delhi was spat on by a middle aged man and shouted at “Corona” before fleeing on his white scooty.

However, Delhi Police has registered a case under section 509 of the Indian Penal Code against a man who allegedly spat on a woman belonging to Manipur and called her “Corona” in Vijay Nagar area of north Delhi last night.

Actor Maniesh Paul also took to Twitter to condemn the incident. He wrote in a tweet, “Its a time to be together…stop behaving like idiots.”

The Cheif Minister of Manpur also took to Twitter to condemn the act, he wrote, “I condemn such racism attitude and saddened by such accidents when these people be well educated? They don’t know the actual geographical areas and ethnic composition of this great nation. Delhi police should take immediate legal actions.”

For the uninitiated, many states of the country have gone into complete lockdown due to the pandemic coronavirus outbreak in the world. In India, positive coronavirus cases have risen to 415 and 7 deaths have been reported so far.
