Bypoll Results
Many people see this bypoll as an important test for the BJP, the AAP and the Congress. All three parties want to show their strength in Delhi again. The BJP treats this vote as a big challenge because it is the first big contest after its big win in the Assembly polls in February. The AAP and the Congress want to win back space they lost earlier, so the results matter a lot for them too.
Voter Turnout and Contest Details
The bypoll took place in 12 wards of the MCD. By 5:30 pm on polling day, the turnout reached 38.51%. Voting happened across 580 booths. A total of 51 candidates took part, and 26 of them were women. These wards opened up because the earlier councillors moved to the Assembly or Parliament. Chandni Mahal saw the highest voter turnout at 55.93%.
