Delhi: Tihar jail gangster executes Rs 5 lakh robbery with wife’s aid

A jailed gangster executed a robbery in Southwest Delhi’s Mohan Garden with the help of his wife. The gangster’s wife used to meet his husband, Joginder Dalal in Tihar Jail and take instructions from him to run the gang and rob money.

Joginder planned to target a woman who works as a cashier with a private school. The duo gave the task to two 19-year-old youths who robbed her approx Rs 5 lakh on Thursday and also shot her on the leg.

DCP Dwarka told that they got to know about the involvement of the jailed gangster and his wife on Monday when they caught hold of the two youths identified as Atul Pradhan and Mayank. The police are searching for Dalal’s wife, who is absconding.

After the woman was shot and robbed she was taken to the hospital. She told the police that she was going to the bank with the cash but since the server was not working, she returned. While returned she was stopped by the youths and in a scuffle, one of the youths shot her in the leg with a pistol.

To probe the case, several teams were formed and CCTV footage of the area was analyzed. Police checked 68 video clips. In one of the clip, youths were seen holding a pistol and riding away from the black scooty.  After the details of the two-wheelers were checked, it was found near Najafgarh area and Mayank was nabbed. Then with the help of him, Pradhan was traced and arrested. Pradhan has been earlier caught on an attempt to murder case while he was a juvenile.

Following the arrests, interrogation was held where the youth revealed that they were ordered by the gangster and his wife. The gangster used to give her instructions during jail visits and she would run the gang.

Gangster’s wife is absconding with most of the robbed cash and search for her is on.
