Delhi University to conduct exams from July 1 via online Open Book Examinations

Examinations will be conducted in three sessions in a day including Sunday with a duration of 2 hours. The exam date sheet will be released by the end of this month.

NEW DELHIDelhi University has issued a notification regarding the examinations for the students in both regular colleges and the School of Open Learning and Non Collegiate Womens Education Board (NCWEB) will begin from July 1, 2020.

Examinations will be conducted in three sessions in a day including Sunday with a duration of 2 hours. The exam date sheet will be released by the end of this month.

In such a situation, DU will hold an alternative mode of examinations ie., Open Book Examinations (OBE) for final term UG and PG students of all programmes.

 

In a letter written by the Dean examination, Vinay Gupta detailed out the exam guidelines and asked teachers to submit question papers.

“In these circumstances, the university is actively considering the option of the conduct of open-book: take-home examination for students of the final year of all streams i.e of regular, SOL and NCWEB,” said the letter written to the head of departments.

The students will be given question papers which will have to be downloaded. It will be of two hours duration exam.

“The concept of ‘Open-Book’ examination would be introduced, wherein the student can refer to books, notes and other study materials to answer the questions. One hour additional would be given for downloading the question paper, scanning the answer sheets, and uploading the answer sheet. The student will have to upload on to the portal, the answer sheet within 3 hours from the start of the examination,” added the letter.

Detailed guidelines of OBE along with the datasheet of all UG courses will be notified by the end of the month on the official website of the University of Delhi at du.ac.in

The date sheet for the PG programmes will be released by the respective departments, centre and faculty.

Moreover, the separate guidelines for the first and second-year of UG  programmes and first-year of PG programmes will be issued in due course of time.
