Five days after the utopian plan of demonetisation, Centre seems to turn a blind eye towards the common man’s suffering and was busy in melodrama and boasting about black money seizure.

People all over the country have been standing in long queues in the process of converting the ‘paper’ into useful money.

A church at Kakkanad in Kerala’s Ernakulam district opened two of its donation boxes for the people who were struggling to meet cash for their daily needs.

During the mass, the priest announced that the donation box would be kept open for a day and the devout in need of change could take as much money as they wished.

“They were allowed to take money from the boxes. They can later gift it back, once the present crisis is over,” Church Vicar Fr Jimmy Poochakkad told The News Minute.

“The boxes were opened around 6 am in the morning, and closed only in the evening. Our decision offered timely succor to many. Some of them did not have ATM cards and were struggling to buy basic household”, he added.

The priest claimed that around 200 families used this facility. He also added that all of them took money according to their needs and there was no greed.
