Timeline of Cha Eun-woo’s Family-Run Agency:In the midst of a spiraling tax investigation involving South Korean actor and ASTRO member Cha Eun-woo, media outlet Dispatch has published a detailed timeline of his family-run agency shedding new light on how the company was formed, operated, and evolved over the past several years.
Timeline of Cha Eun-woo’s Family-Run Agency
Cha’s Gallery Establishment

Dispatch’s report traces the origin of the family company back to July 4, 2019, when Cha Eun-woo and his parents established a private corporate entity named Cha’s Gallery. Official company documents list Cha Eun-woo as CEO, with his mother, Mrs. Choi, serving as an internal director and his father as financial manager. The company’s registered address at the time was in Dongan-gu, Anyang-si, a location far removed from the central entertainment business districts.

What stood out and what Dispatch underscored was the remarkably broad range of business purposes filed under Cha’s Gallery’s incorporation documents. The entity was not limited to talent management alone; listed purposes spanned more than three dozen categories including music production, concert promotion, advertising, IP licensing, cosmetics distribution, and even food service and theme park management.

Address Shifts and Strategic Relocations

Just one year after its launch, Cha’s Gallery underwent its first relocation, moving its registered address in June 2020 to Gimpo City. Two years later in June 2022, the company again changed its address, this time to Ganghwa Island, coinciding with the location of the family’s eel restaurant business, Eojaeyeon.

Legal analysts later suggested to media outlets that this relocation may not have been incidental. Experts have posited that positioning a corporate entity at a family-run restaurant address could serve purposes linked to tax strategy, particularly by muddying the trail of where earnings were generated and how taxable income was reported.
Leadership Changes
The Dispatch organization recorded important leadership changes which took place throughout its history. Cha Eun-woo started as the company’s CEO but his mother took over the position in September 2020 which confirmed her authority to manage the business. The company established as L&C LLC in 2022 which operated as an artist management firm through its own entity. The company D ANY LLC which was created to manage Cha’s assets succeeded the entity in 2024.

The Dispatch organization reported that a private corporation which changes its status to limited liability company (LLC) will face new regulatory requirements. South Korean LLCs do not have to provide complete financial information or go through regular independent audits which applies to public companies and larger businesses.
Tax Investigations and Scrutiny
The National Tax Service (NTS) has started a tax investigation which focuses on these business developments. Cha Eun-woo faces potential tax liabilities exceeding 20 billion won which equals approximately 13 million to 14 million dollars because of his alleged income concealment through his family-operated business entities.

Authorities allege that Cha established service agreements between his family company and Fantagio which functions as his primary talent agency to create earnings distribution methods that resulted in lower tax payments.

Fantagio and Cha’s representatives have responded cautiously. The family company status determines whether the case will result in taxable entity designation according to official statements which claim no final decision has been made to court procedures. Both Cha and his tax advisors have filed objections and seek clarity through internal appeals.
