Even cops don’t stop me: Car driver drags toll booth employee on bonnet for 5 Km

In a shocking incident, a toll booth employee on Saturday was dragged on the bonnet of an SUV for several kilometres and later beaten up by its occupants, after it broke through the boom barrier of the toll plaza. The incident took place on National Highway 8 after the driver was asked to stop and pay the toll at Kherki Daula toll in Gurugram.

According to the reports, at around 12:40 PM, a car in which four persons were travelling, hit the boom barrier in a bid to run away without paying the toll tax. The driver, instead of slowing down, sped on, following which the victim Ashok Kumar fell on the car bonnet and was dragged for 4-5 km.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) south Gurugram, Rajesh Singh said Kumar appeared in front of the car in an attempt to stop it.

Kumar said he grabbed the car’s wipers to save himself from falling.

The whole incident was captured on the CCTV camera installed at the booth.

The police has registered the case under relevant Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections. The matter is under investigation and efforts are on to trace the culprits.
