New Delhi: A day after quitting from quit from Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Punjab MP Sher Singh Ghubaya joined the Congress here.

Ghubaya, who represents the Firozpur Lok Sabha constituency, was formally inducted into the party in the presence of Congress President Rahul Gandhi here.

At a press briefing on Monday, which took place at Ferozepur’s Jalalabad, Ghubaya had announced the decision of quitting from the SAD party, blaming the party head Sukhbir Singh Badal’s wrong policies for resigning and giving up on all posts from the party. Following the briefing, the party issued a note expelling Ghubaya.

Ghubaya a two-time MP from Ferozepur constituency seat, won it first in 2009 and then in 2014. In the run up to the 2017 assembly elections, Davinder Ghubaya, the son of Sher Singh had joined the Congress party and win from Fazilka on the party ticket.
