The coronavirus lockdown has been relaxed in many states, whereas there are still some parts which are continuing with the lockdown as the number of cases continues to rise.

Recently, a message claiming that the lockdown is going to be lifted partially or fully, from tomorrow and therefore as responsible citizens, we have to follow certain traffic rules and also remain cautious in protecting ourselves and our belongings is doing rounds on social media.

The message further alerts that, as many out there, did not have many earnings all these days and therefore, there might be a sudden spurt in incidents due to job loss or effect on businesses.

FACT CHECK:

It is been claimed that the message has been issued by local police of Kolkata and is circulating in different cities with the ‘Caution’ from Police.

A media portal contacted Mr. Murlidhar Sharma, IPS, Joint Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch, Kolkata Police.

Speaking to News Sense, Mr Sharma clarified that, “Kolkata Police has not issued any such guidelines for the people of Kolkata, we want to clarify that the message which is doing rounds on the social media is Fake“.

Final Verdict:

Thus, with the confirmation from the Kolkata Police states message which is doing rounds on social media particularly on WhatsApp is a Fake one.
