Fact Check: Truth behind viral claim of India to go under complete lockdown from June 15

As the country has entered the unlock-1 phase in which malls, shops and everything is opening but there is a photo which being widely circulated on the web which claims that after 15 June, another lockdown could be imposed in India.

However, the screenshot of a bulletin of Zee News is being widely circulated and is doing rounds but the screenshot has been morphed and the news channel hasn’t shown any such news.

Claim:

According to the screenshot which is doing rounds on web, it appears to be a news bulletin by Zee News, the Home Ministry have given signals that there is high chance of another lockdown to be imposed after 15 June.

The screenshot also claims that air and train travel will once again take a halt.

Many people are sharing the screenshot on WhatsApp and Facebook.

Here’s the truth:

As we searched on the web, we did not find any such report from Zee News claiming that a complete lockdown to be implemented by the government.

Moreover, Zee News also called out the screenshot as fake on their own website in an article and said that they have not shown any such news on their channel and said that the photo is completely fake and photoshopped.

Verdict: Therefore, it is clear that Zee News had not run any such news and the ‘screenshot’ is fake.
