A video showing a toddler being rescued from inside a borewell is making rounds on mobile chat application WhatsApp. The video has been shared with a claim that is of people rescuing the two-and-a-half-year-old boy, Sujith Wilson, from Tamil Nadu’s Tiruchirappalli district who fell into a borewell on Friday, October 25, 2019.

The video is being shared on WhatsApp along with captions written in English and Malyalam.

One such message reads, “Two-year-old boy rescued from borewell near Trichy, Tamil Nadu. Big salute to the personnel engaged in this operations (operation).”

The video actually dates back to August 2017, when a toddler named Chandrasekhar fell into a borewell in Guntur (Andhra Pradesh), Ummadivaram village.

Sujith’s life could not be saved after an 80-hour effort. He remained trapped in an abandoned borewell for over 3 days in Nadukattupatti village in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruchirappalli district.
