An FIR was registered against Pakistani actor Fawad Khan for refusing polio vaccination for his daughter by Pakistani Vaccination team.
Reports suggest that the administration has booked 6 people including the actor. The case has been registered at the Faisal Town police station.
However, reportedly the actor’s manager has denied any such allegations in an official statement and said that the actor is not even in the country.
According to the report, the UCMO (Union Council Monitoring Officer) claimed that the polio team has visited Fawad’s residence at 5 pm on Tuesday but the head of the family refused to get the children vaccinated against polio”.
Fawad’s manager said in a statement, “Nothing could be further from the truth as neither of the parents was home at the time of (the) visit by the anti-polio team.”
The actor was first in Dubai for the opening ceremony of Pakistan Super League and is now in the US. Fawad also plans to take legal action if the FIR is not withdrawn, Fawad’s manager added.
The Spokesperson of Prime Minister’s Polio taskforce Babar Bin Ata tweeted, “Fawad is our pride, I request him to allow teams to vaccinate the child. Lahore has had a polio case last week, we must protect the child.”
