Filmfare Awards 2020: Teri Mitti lyricist Manoj Muntashir upset, vows not to attend award function

The 65th Filmfare Awards 2020 which took place yesterday in Guwahati, the decision to host the award night was to boost tourism in Assam. But the night saw some real-time heartbreak as the lyricist Manoj Muntashir was nominated in the best lyrics category for Teri Mitti, however, he lost the trophy to Divine and Ankur Tewari for Apna Time Aaega. Manoj Muntashir got upset with it and overflowed his emotions on twitter.

Muntashir wrote a heartfelt note biding goodbye to award shows and said Dear Awards, even if he tries all his life, he won’t be able to write a better line than Tu Kehti Thi Tera Chaand Hoon Mai Aur Chaand Humesha Rehta Hai (lyrics of Teri Mitti from Kesari).

He added to it that Awards have failed to honor the words made millions of Indians cry and care for their motherland and it would be a great disrespect to his art if he still continues to care about Award functions. He concluded it by saying that he bids goodbye and he announced that he won’t attend any award show till he breathes his last.
