Filmmaker Shirish Kunder seems to be in a trouble as an FIR was registered against him for allegedly derogatory remarks against Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath under Section 66 of Information Technology Act, 2008 with Hazratganj police station on Thursday.
The FIR was lodged by Amit Kumar Tiwari, secretary of Thakurdwara Trust, Sita Rasoi, Ramkot of Ayodhya. Kumar said Kunder had initially tweeted that “Hoping a goon will stop rioting once he’s allowed to rule is like expecting a rapist to stop raping once he’s allowed to rape,” following another tweet that reads, “Going by the logic of making a goon as CM so that he behaves, Dawood can be CBI director. And Mallya – RBI Governor.”
Kunder’s tweets were a response to writer Chetan Bhagat’s tweet after the BJP selected the five-term parliamentarian from Gorakhpur and head priest of Gorakhnath Math to rule India’s densely inhabited and politically sensitive state.
The filmmaker however, removed his posts after being slammed by a section of the twitteratti.
