Former Gujarat IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt along with six other people, including two former police officers, were arrested in a 1998 drug related case. Bhatt has been accused of falsely framing a lawyer in a criminal case. Gujarat CID took Bhatt into custody following directives from the Gujarat High Court.
In 1998, Sanjiv Bhatt was serving as the DCP of Banaskantha when he was accused of trying framing a lawyer in a fake narcotics case.
