CM Gehlot Calls for Probe into NEET UG Irregularities: Ashok Gehlot, the former chief minister of Rajasthan, demanded a probe into alleged irregularities in the NEET medical entrance exam today.

In the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET), up to 67 candidates bagged the top rank, including six from the same exam center, as a result of alleged inflation of marks.

However, the National Testing Agency (NTA) denied any irregularities and explained that some of the reasons students scored higher were due to changes made to the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) textbooks and grace marks for losing time at examination centers.

Several candidates from the same centre got full marks in the NEET exam, and candidates with close roll numbers topped, he said on X.

Many such aspects are emerging, increasing the apprehensions of irregularities in the examination.

The matter affects the future of lakhs of students and the credibility of the medical profession, according to Gehlot.

Therefore, the NTA and the central government should investigate it seriously to ensure justice.

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra slammed the Narendra Modi government earlier in the day and called for an investigation into students’ “legitimate complaints.”
