Former TRS MP Vishweshwar Reddy to join Congress on Nov 23

In a major political development on Tuesday evening, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) sitting parliamentarian from Chevella, Konda Vishweshwar Reddy resigned from the party. Following the resignation, Reddy sent a 3-page letter to TRS party office. Konda also submitted resignation as the Lok Sabha MP. Following the resignation, Vishweshwar  Reddy met Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi on Wednesday.

AICC General Secretary RC Khuntia told media, “Vishweshwar Reddy will join Congress on November 23 in the presence of Sonia Gandhi at the party’s public meeting at Medchal of Telangana”.

On Tuesday, Reddy criticized the TRS and state that “I fought for the party in 2014, when the party needed. However, the party has inducted who were against Telangana and our ideology into the cabinet & given them more power and prominence. I am personally very pained at the situation I am in and hope you will understand my perspective.”
