Why Are Gold and Silver Prices Falling Today?
The decline is happening alongside some weakness in the international bullion markets and the shift in what people expect for global monetary policy. Reuters said spot gold dropped 0.6% to $4,324.39 per ounce, and US gold futures fell almost 1% as well. Silver slipped too, down 0.9% to $63.88 per ounce.
Profit taking is also showing up after gold just hit its top level since June 5. Meanwhile, geopolitical news tied to Iran is still a major ongoing trigger for volatility in precious metals.
