Google launches Threadit, 'TikTok for Work' as short video content for workplace

The giant search engine on the internet, Google has launched a new short-video service for workplace Threadit-‘TikTok for Work’. The target audience of this feature is influencers and vloggers.

The service lets users record short video clips on their devices to share with other teammates. The users can also choose to create longer videos which can last up to 70 minutes. Threadit also eradicates the need to host live meetings for video communication and enables employees across the world to work on their time zones.

The feature is available on the browser or as a Chrome extension.

Threadit also helped employees work on their time zones. “I’d send a Threadit to my colleagues in Japan during my normal working hours in Seattle; they’d respond during the hours that worked for them in Tokyo. Threadit helped us feel like we were working together in person, even though we were responding at different times from across the world — it built connections that email couldn’t. The best part? Nobody had to get up early or stay up late,” Keller Smith, Founder and General Manager, Threadit, explained in a blog post.

Google has borrowed ideas from Google Workspace for the new feature. However, in ThreadIt the user can control whether the recipients of the video can respond to a clip, for doing so, the user can choose whether to limit the audiences to viewing only or allow them to add their own video to the already existing one.
