Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi who is currently on his 2500-km long Kisan Yatra, on Wednesday suggested that if they are withdrawing the practice of Rail Budget, they can start a ‘Kisan Budget.’

In a break from the 92-year-old tradition, the Union Cabinet on Wednesday scrapped the Railway budget and instead merged it with the General Budget.

With the merger of the rail and general budgets, there would be no need of separate Appropriation Bills as well as Vote on Account, as is the current practice.

While much debate and discussion will ensue in regarding this, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi who is currently on his 2500-km long Kisan Yatra, today suggested that if they are withdrawing the practice of Rail Budget, they can start a ‘Kisan Budget.’

The Gandhi scion in a bid to revive Congress’ rule in Uttar Pradesh is currently holding various road shows and rallies in the state.

Speaking at the Khaat Sabha in Kanpur, Rahul said that the money that is being given to various industrialists, if it is given to the farmers, then more than hundreds of them will grow to become engineers, doctors and lawyers.

Started on September 6, Rahul’s yatra is aimed to “secure the rights of the poor, farmers and labourers in government resources.”

While addressing a crowd in Jalaun, the Gandhi scion while attacking the BJP-led government says, “I will tell you the truth about Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We asked in the House, that you the incumbent government had promised that 2 crore youth will get employment. How many of them got it?

However, only 1 lakh youth population in the entire country has got employment. PM Modi is busy visiting foreign countries. At times he is seen getting clicked with the Prime iMnister of China and on other occasions with somebody else. You people chose a prime minister, but you got a selfie machine.”
