Hajj 2026 Arafat Sermon: Sheikh Ali Bin Abdul Rahman Hudhaify will deliver the Arafat Sermon 2026 from Masjid Namirah on May 26, 2026. The sermon will be heard in over 30 languages, so more pilgrims can follow it in a way that is easy for them to understand. The Saudi Royal Court has chosen Sheikh Hudhaify for this year’s Hajj sermon. He is the Imam and Khateeb of Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah.

QR Codes and Real-Time Translation

Last year, the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque said the “Arafah sermon translation project was finished.” The goal was clear and simple: “improve communication between Muslims and non-Muslims by bringing Islam’s message of tolerance to a worldwide audience in their own languages.” The system uses QR codes, which let people open the text and audio translation very fast. This helps pilgrims both inside and outside the holy sites listen to the sermon in their own language.

The authority had already sent the Arafat Khutbah in 34 languages after the translation project was completed. Those languages were Arabic, Urdu, English, French, Indonesian, Persian (Farsi), Hausa, Chinese (Mandarin), Russian, Bengali, Turkish, Malay (Bahasa Melayu), Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, German, Filipino (Tagalog), Amharic (Ethiopia), Bosnian, Hindi, Dutch, Thai, Malayalam, Swahili, Pashto, Tamil, Azerbaijani, Swedish, Uzbek, Albanian, Fulani (Fula), Somali, Rohingya, and Yoruba. For this year, the live sermon will be available in even more languages, which makes the message reach more people across the world.

Who is Sheikh Hudhaify?

Sheikh Ali Bin Abdul Rahman Hudhaify is widely known in the Muslim world. He is the Imam and Khateeb of the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah. He was born on May 22, 1947, in Al-Qarn Al-Mustaqim in Makkah Province, Saudi Arabia. In 1972, he earned a Bachelor of Laws degree from Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University. Later, in 1975, he received both a master’s degree and a doctorate in Islamic law from Al-Azhar University.

His role this year is important because the Arafat Sermon is one of the biggest spiritual moments of Hajj. It is delivered on the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah 1447AH, from the pulpit of Masjid al-Namirah on Mount Arafat. The sermon follows the long Hajj tradition linked with the Farewell Sermon of Prophet Muhammad, and pilgrims then stay on the plain of Arafat for prayer until sunset. The day of Arafah in 2026 is expected to fall on May 26, 2026.
