Bharatiya Janata Party MLA, Bakhshish Singh Virk, who in the run-up to the Haryana Assembly Elections 2019 was purportedly seen in a video claiming ‘May you press any of the buttons, all the votes will go to the lotus’, is apparently trailing at the moment from his constituency in the ongoing polls,

In a close three way fight, Congress candidate Shamsher Singh Gogi is presently leading at the moment with 14535 votes, Bahujan Samaj Party hope Narendra Singh has 13325 votes in his kitty till now. The sitting MLA, Bakhshish Singh Virk is trailing at third with 12568.

The Election Commission of India on Sunday had issued a notice to the saffron party candidate for claiming to have rigged all the EVMs in a video which went viral on the internet.

“You will have to pay for a five-second mistake for the next five years. We will come to know where a person has voted. You should not have any wrong perception about it. Many people do not tell deliberately to whom they voted, but if you ask us who you voted for, we shall tell you that too, because Modi ji’s eyes are very sharp. May you press any of the buttons, all the votes will go to the ‘lotus’ (BJP’s symbol) as we have fixed all the EVMs,” The video clip showed Virk as saying.

Virk had later said, “The video was distorted with false propaganda. I respect the EC. It is a conspiracy to spoil my image.”
