In a bizarre incident, a family in Kalanwali town of Haryana’s district Sirsa is eagerly waiting for a bull to excrete dung in order to retain the gold ornaments discarded accidentally along with other kitchen waste which the cattle swallowed.
As quoted in media reports, Janakraj, a resident of ward 6 of Kalanwali, said his wife and daughter-in-law had taken off their gold ornaments and kept those in a bowl that was placed in the kitchen. He said the bowl got hid under vegetable peels, and his mother threw the leftovers outside to feed stray cattle.
“My aged mother cut some vegetables and used the same bowl to discard the leftovers,” he said.
His mother then threw the leafy contents of the bowl outside the house which was eaten up by a bull roaming outside, but she spotted an earring on the floor nearby, which she brought back into the house, he added.

At this moment, the woman realised her mistake and checked the CCTV camera installed in the house. They spotted a stray bull feeding on the leftovers.
After a search for five hours, they finally tracked down the bull and are now tying it in a plot near the house.
The family as been feeding the animal over the past three days, with the hope that it will also pass the gold along with its excreta. “We have been checking the dung to recover the gold. It’s a dirty job, but we have no other option,” says Janak Raj, as the jewels belong to Raj’s wife and daughter-in-law.
