Going home to office and from office to home, whenever you get stuck in traffic you might have cursed your mediocre life. You have been doing your job for years but the zeal you had at the beginning of your carrier might have been stolen by everyday burden.
Every day we see traffic cops standing at signals, giving directions and managing traffic, no matter it is monsoon or a sunny day trying to soak your energy. Being a traffic police is a hard job to do, they bear the brunt of pollution and work for the convenience of commuters.
But there is one traffic cop from Chennai who has made his job super cool. M. Kumar who could be seen at the Old Mahabalipuram Road or at Sholinganallur on OMR in Chennai, wearing white gloves and signalling the traffic with his own dramatic, unusual and dance like moves is making Chennites smile.
When the signal turns green Kumar slightly bends his knees and gives a move as like he is standing on the forefront of a battalion and asking his soldiers to attack the enemy. Obviously Kumar has become an attraction for commuters and pedestrians can’t resist of sparing a minute or two to thank him for the way he is doing his job.
Kumar has a grace of no less than a music conductor. He swiftly moves his hands with smile on his face. Few youngsters when saw this super cop they decided to make a short film on him. The film titled Supercop: Ruling the roads with love and order has already gone viral on social media and has millions of views.
So what is the secret behind his uber-cool attitude? Kumar says, “In the field I consider myself as a teacher. Every day at my signal, the people who pass through it should have a safe start. As a teacher I have to maintain the attention of the people. To do that I wear white gloves, whistle loud act dynamic and keep a smiling face at them.”
