Here's everything to know about Volkswagen Polo & Vento Facelift to be launched tomorrow

The long wait for the Volkswagen Polo and Vento facelift is almost over as both models will be launched tomorrow on September 4. Spy images of both cars being tested on Indian roads are all over the internet. And now the upcoming models have been spotted at various dealerships too.

Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming models:

Design

We already know from earlier spy images that the Polo facelift will get a similar-looking front-end as the Vento facelift. However, the rear end is expected to get restyled part-LED tail lamps. It also gets a sporty black trim in its bumper.

The Vento facelift will get cosmetic changes like a redesigned front fascia and a redesigned front bumper inspired by the GTI hatchback. Other exterior tweaks include a honeycomb mesh grille and dual-tone alloys from the Cup edition. The rear-end remains similar to its predecessor, aside from the slightly restyled tail lamps and black trim in the lower bumper.

Interior

Details about the upcoming model’s interiors have not been revealed yet, but we expect them to get a host of updates. Some of them could include an updated touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Power

We expect Volkswagen to retain the 1.0-liter MPI petrol in the Polo and the 1.6-litre MPI petrol motor in the Vento. The current Polo’s 1.0-litre petrol motor produces 76PS of power and 95Nm of torque. On the other hand, the 1.6-liter petrol in the current Vento puts out 105PS of power and 153Nm of torque. The Polo GT TSI and Vento TSI are expected to retain the 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol motor that churns out 104PS of power and 175Nm of torque.

A BS6-compliant 1.0-litre TSI motor is in the works for the Indian market. It is expected to be available in two states of tune – 95PS and 115PS. However, we expect the motor to make its debut in the Polo and the Vento at a later date. Good news for those hoping for a diesel variant as a closer look at the Vento spy shot reveals that the 1.5-litre TDI diesel motor will be retained. Expect both models to retain the 5-speed manual and the 7-speed DSG gearbox, which is currently offered on the Vento and the Polo GT trim.

Price

It is expected that the two models will be priced at a premium over their current iterations at launch. The current Polo has priced from Rs 5.71 lakh to Rs 9.72 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The Vento, on the other hand, is currently priced from Rs 8.65 lakh to Rs 14.34 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
