Himachal Pradesh: 12 children injured after bus falls into gorge in Bilaspur

A bus along with 31 people, which included 12 children, fell into a gorge in Himachal Pradesh’ Bilaspur district at 8:30 AM yesterday. Among the injured, eight were women.

The bus was a private entity, carrying school and college students, from Marotan to Bhaged. According to the reports, the accident occurred when the front wheel of the bus came off after which the bus fell into the gorge.

The reports said that 13 of the 31 passengers after discharged after providing them with the first aid treatment.

According to the Himachal Pradesh Motor Vehicles (First Amendment) Rules 2018, the vehicle carrying schoolchildren should be more than 15 years old, the driver should have attained the physical certification and must be of less than 60 years of age. Children below five years shall not be allowed to sit in the front seat and the driver should have an experience of more than 5 years, said the new rules.
