In a shocking incident, a 22-year-old married woman died after she was misdiagnosed as HIV positive by a private clinic on Tuesday night. The woman slipped into a coma in Shimla upon learning about the false diagnoses.
Himachal CM Jai Ram Thakur has ordered a probe into the incident. Fresh tests were conducted at a government hospital which showed that she did not have HIV.
Rohru Congress MLA Mohan Lal Brakta raised the issue in the state assembly to which the CM said that the director of the health services would be asked to look into the matter and submit a report within a fortnight.

Reportedly, the woman had gone to a private clinic for checkup due to ailment. The clinic had conducted some tests and gave her the results without informing her about its contents.
She, later on, went to a hospital in Shimla for treatment with her husband and was told about the report prepared by the private clinic. The woman was asked to undergo fresh tests by them and when she came to know that she has been diagnosed ‘HIV positive’ by the clinic, she went into a coma.
The woman was later shifted to IGMC where she died.
The fresh reports by the government hospital had stated that she was not HIV positive.
The MLA had demanded strict action against the private clinic and also sought adequate compensation for the 22-year-old woman’s family.
Himachal CM stated that the matter is sensitive and after the investigation report is received, strict action will be taken against the private clinic for preparing a wrong report. He also said that the compensation to the deceased woman’s family will be provided as per the rules.
