Honor Robot Phone Set for August Debut, Fresh Leak Suggests

Honor Robot Phone Set for August Debut: Honor’s wildly anticipated “Robot Phone” could actually start selling as soon as August 2026, based on a new hint from the fairly famous Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station. This most recent leak, posted on China’s Weibo says the release window is coming up in just a few weeks. Honor hasn’t revealed a specific date yet, but the schedule that’s being floated seems to match what Honor already promised earlier meaning a China launch sometime in the second half of 2026.

The new details popped up after a Weibo user asked Digital Chat Station when the Robot Phone will arrive. The tipster answered in a short, cryptic way like, “Soon, August”. That phrasing also implies an official reveal is likely happening next month, rather than later. Although the post does not reveal additional specifications or launch details, the tipster has built a strong reputation for accurately leaking smartphone launches and hardware information from major Chinese brands.

Honor itself has only stated that the Robot Phone will go on sale in China during the second half of 2026, making an August launch consistent with the company’s official roadmap.

Features

The Robot Phone first attracted global attention at the 2026 Mobile World Congress (MWC), where Honor showcased the device’s standout feature, a motorised robotic camera module integrated into the rear of the phone. Unlike conventional camera bumps, the mechanism unfolds, rotates and stabilises itself using what Honor describes as the industry’s smallest four-degrees-of-freedom (4DoF) gimbal system.

The company says the camera houses a 200-megapixel sensor capable of advanced subject tracking and smoother handheld video recording. The robotic module can also perform physical gestures, including nodding and shaking, while automatically following moving subjects during filming.

Partnership With ARRI

Honor has positioned the Robot Phone as a device aimed at serious content creators rather than just smartphone enthusiasts. Earlier this year, the company announced a collaboration with German cinema camera manufacturer ARRI, bringing professional-grade imaging technologies to the handset.

According to Honor, the Robot Phone supports ARRI’s LogC colour science at the RAW level and integrates with ARRI’s LUT workflow in DaVinci Resolve, enabling creators to produce cinema-style footage directly from a smartphone. The company also demonstrated the device during the Shanghai International Film Festival, where it was used to capture professional-quality video.

Industry analysts believe the device could appeal particularly to vloggers, filmmakers and creators looking for built-in stabilisation and automated tracking without carrying external gimbals.

Official Confirmation Still Awaited

Despite the growing number of leaks, Honor still hasn’t rolled out an official launch event or fully laid out everything, like specs complete, pricing, and where it will be available. If the newest info from Digital Chat Station turns out to be right, those answers may surface within the coming weeks, as the company gets ready for its expected August debut in China. For now, the Robot Phone remains one of the year’s most carefully tracked smartphone releases.
