Sushant Singh Rajput’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty is making headlines ever since the actor’s father KK Singh has lodged an FIR against the actress for abetment of suicide.
If there is one person who has not spoken much after Sushant’s demise is, Rhea Chakraborty. The actress posted on social media after a month of Sushant’s untimely demise. She has also urged Amit Shah to order CBI inquiry in Sushant’s case.
However, after Sushant’s father lodged an FIR, Rhea has knocked the doors of Supreme Court and asked them to transfer the actor’s case from Patna to Mumbai.
From early life to career, here’s everything to know about Rhea Chakraborty
Rhea Chakraborty was born into a Bengali family in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. Her father was an Indian Army officer. She did her schooling from Army Public School Ambala Cantt.
Chakraborty started her career working as a VJ on MTV India. In 2013, she made her Bollywood acting debut with the film Mere Dad Ki Maruti. She has hosted several MTV shows, including Pepsi MTV Wassup, TicTac College Beat and MTV Gone in 60 Seconds.
In 2012 she made her film debut with the Telugu film Tuneega Tuneega where she played the character Nidhi. In 2013 she debuted in Bollywood with Mere Dad Ki Maruti as Jasleen. In 2014 she played the character of Sonali in Sonali Cable.
In 2017 she appeared in YRF’s Bank Chor. She also did cameo appearances in Half Girlfriend and Dobaara: See Your Evil. In 2018 she appeared in Jalebi opposite debutante Varun Mitra.
How Rhea Chakraborty met Sushant Singh Rajput
Sushant Singh Rajput and Chakraborty met in 2012 when they were both signed on as YRF talent. Rajput was working on Maneesh Sharma’s Shuddh Desi Romance, while Chakraborty was working on her Hindi debut. Rumours about their relationship sparked only after they were spotted holidaying together in Ladakh in August last year.
The buzz grew after the two began sliding into each other’s Instagram posts and were often clicked together by the paparazzi while exiting restaurants and gyms in Bandra.
But it was only after Rajput’s death last month that Chakraborty admitted to having been in a relationship and living with the late actor. It is also rumoured that the two were also looking for a property and had plans of getting married later this year.
