An ironic yet piercing remark came by Bharatiya Janata Party MP Nishikant Dubey, slamming Congress chief Rahul Gandhi over his iconic hug to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the no-confidence motion in Parliament last week. Dubey said that he fears hugging Rahul Gandhi as his wife may give divorce thinking him as homo-sexual.
“Yes we do fear hugging Rahul Gandhi as our wives might divorce us after that. Also, Section 377 hasn’t been scrapped as yet. If he gets married, we will hug him: BJP MP Nishikant Dubey on Rahul Gandhi statement ‘Now BJP MPs take 2 steps back thinking I’ll hug them,” said Jharkhand MP Dubey.

The statement came a day after Rahul Gandhi, derided by the ruling BJP ever since he hugged Prime Minister Narendra Modi in parliament last week, joked at a gathering in Delhi that now BJP leaders “take two steps back” on spotting him.
“It is very interesting how this works, because now whenever I come across BJP MPs, they take two steps back.” the Congress president said at the launch of a book on Wednesday, drawing laughter.
Mr Gandhi has been roasted not just by the BJP MPs but also by PM Modi, who had looked startled when the Congress chief walked over to him during the Monsoon Session in parliament on Friday and wrapped him a sudden hug.
