The name of the opposition alliance is expected to be INDIA (Indian National Democratic Inclusive Alliance), however this has not been decided officially but many politicians have shown agreement on it.

The meeting of the senior leaders of 26 opposition parties from around the country took place on Tuesday in Bengaluru. The purpose of the gathering was to establish a unified strategy to challenge the governing NDA alliance at the Centre, which is led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The determination of the 26 parties to “safeguard the idea of India as enshrined in the Constitution” is mentioned in a document that was made available to The Indian Express. “The foundational pillars of the Indian Constitution – secular democracy, economic sovereignty, social justice, and federalism – are being methodically and menacingly undermined,” it states in the document.

The letter goes on to describe the “brazen misuse of agencies” committed by the government of the BJP at the Centre against its political opponents, as well as their disregard of the requirements of states governed by parties other than the BJP. Concerns have also been voiced over the “humanitarian tragedy” that is unfolding in Manipur as well as the “grave economic crisis” characterized by ever-increasing costs of critical commodities and record levels of unemployment.

In one of the documents, it is stated, “We have come together to defeat the hatred and violence that is being manufactured against minorities; stop the rising crimes against women, Dalits, and Adivasis; demand a fair hearing for all socially, educationally, and economically backward communities; and, as a first step, implement the Caste Census.”

The Congress Party, the Trinamool Congress, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, the Aam Aadmi Party, the Janata Dal (United), the Rashtriya Janata Dal, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, the Nationalist Congress Party, Shiv Sena (UBT), Samajwadi Party, Rashtriya Lok Dal, Apna Dal (Kamerawadi), Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge stated that his party is not interested in either power or the office of prime minister while speaking on the second day of the opposition unity conference in Bengaluru. The conclave was held in Bengaluru. He continued by saying, “We’re aware of differences between some of us at the state level; these are not ideological.” He also stated that the differences were not so significant that they could not be set aside for the “sake of the people.”

In addition, Kharge stated, “We are 26 parties, and we are in government in 11 states.” The BJP did not win all 303 seats on its own; it relied on the support of its allies and subsequently cast those votes aside. He made this statement in response to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) meeting that is slated to take place today. He said, “BJP president (J P Nadda) and party leaders are running from state to state to patch up with old allies.” He went on to say that the conference of the opposition was held with the purpose of defending the Constitution as well as democracy, secularism, and social justice.
