CAs aspirants who were on a sit-in protest from Monday demanding recheck of the exam papers have ended protest following the constitution of an independent committee to look into the examination processes.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) had decided to constitute a high-level independent committee to look into the examination processes/regulations governing CA examinations including Regulation 39(4) of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988 and suggest changes wherever required in the ICAI Examination System, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said their demand for re-evaluation of answer sheets is justified and should be supported by all political parties.

“Across India 12 Lakh CA students are fighting for their right to have their exam papers re-evaluated by ICAI.

Given the widespread reports of errors in the evaluation of answer sheets, this demand is justified & should be supported by all political parties. #dearicaiplschange,” tweeted Rahul.

National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) President Neeraj Kundan had also supported the protesting candidates in his tweet.
“It is unfair to the 12 lakh CA students to not have their papers re-evaluated by ICAI despite the many errors reported. I pledge NSUI’s and my support to their fight for rights. #dearicaiplschange #ICAIamend39_4,” he tweeted.
