Current Indian Cricket Team captain bagged ODI Cricketer of the Decade award in the latest ICC Awards. With an average of 61.83, Virat Kohli was the only player on the list to score 10,000 plus runs in ODI. This surprised no one as India’s Talisman has dominated the white ball circuit unlike anyone in history.
Virat also took home the Sir Garfield Sobers Award for ICC Male Cricketer of the Decade. Kohli also became the only player to feature in all three ICC Men’s Teams of the Decade. Virat was also named captain of the Test Team of the Decade.
Test Cricketer of the Decade went to Australian Steve Smith. Meanwhile, retired MS Dhoni bagged the Spirit of Cricket Award of the Decade after being named captain of the both ODI and T20I Team of the Decade.
Women’s award was unsurprisingly dominated by Aussie Ellyse Perry as she bagged all three individual honors in the list.
