NEW DELHI: As we are going through a tough time due to the coronavirus pandemic. The global economy has been affected so much by the crisis that there is currently a huge risk of job shrinkage. Meanwhile, the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has come up with an undergraduate programme that can help management aspirants to make money while studying.
IGNOU collaborates with Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Limited (MKCL) to launch the “Bachelor of Business Administration (Services Management)” from July 2020.
Promoted by the Maharashtra government, MKCL launched a career-oriented programme to create a workforce for the knowledge-based economy.
About course:
The three-year, six-semester BBA (Services Management) course is unique in that students can acquire practical skills when working in the service industry for three years. According to industry norms, they will also receive a three-year monthly stipend.
The first three semesters focus on the fundamentals of management, marketing, communication and quantitative and IT skills.
The next three semesters will focus on managing the service operations and related skills required for a successful career. While studying the course, students will also get the opportunity to work in real life and will be guided by industry professionals.
Eligibility and admission for the course:
Eligibility for the BBA (Services Management) programme is to pass the 10 + 2 or equivalent level of an accredited institution. As of July 1, 2020, applicants must be at least 18 years old.
Admission will be completed through a written test and an interview. The program also requires students to become full-time interns, apprentices or employees, or willing to work in the service industry.
After completing the course, students will receive a BBA degree from IGNOU and work experience certificates from related companies. The course fee is Rs 20,000 per year.
