According to India’s National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2023 data, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, one of the most prestigious educational institutions in the world, has been ranked the best university, followed by Jawaharlal Nehru University and Jamia Millia Islamia.
IIT Madras has been ranked as the second-best institution for research after this institution.

IT Madras remains the top engineering school for the eighth consecutive year.
IIT Kanpur ranked highest among other institutions for innovation, followed by IIT Madras and IIT Hyderabad.
