4:00 PM| Schools in the national capital will not reopen till the government is convinced about students” safety, Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain said on Thursday. Universities and schools across the country were closed on March 16, when the Centre announced a countrywide classroom shutdown as part of measures to contain the spread of COVID-19. A nationwide lockdown was imposed on March 25.


2:45 PM| At least two jawans were left critically injured in a terrorist attack on the outskirts of Srinagar on Thursday. As per media reports, terrorists attacked the Indian Army’s Road Opening Party at HMT area. The injured security personnel have been taken to the Army hospital. Meanwhile, the entire area has been cordoned off to catch the attackers.


12:20 PM| The Lucknow Police Commissionerate on Wednesday said that prohibitory orders in the state capital will now be extended till December 1 in view of upcoming festivals during the COVID-19 pandemic. In a statement issued here, Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Lucknow Naveen Arora said that section 144 of the CrPC was imposed in the city on October 15 and it was in place till November 25.


12:05 PM| In a new order passed by the Government of India, international flight ban has been extended till 31 December by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) amid the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic. Only selected flights shall be allowed on case to case basis, the DGCA order read.


11:50 AM| Delhi health minister said on Thursday, “The positivity rate in Delhi has come down to 8.5 per cent in the last three weeks. A vaccine will hopefully soon be out. Until we are completely assured of the situation being in control, no schools will reopen.”


10:15 AM| Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled death of football legend Diego Maradona on Thursday, and said, “Throughout his career, he gave us some of the best sporting moments on the football field. His untimely demise has saddened us all.”


Union home minister Amit Shah tweeted on Thursday, “I pay tribute to all those who lost their lives in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. I also pay tribute to the brave security personnel who faced the terrorists in these attacks.”

A total of 120 domestic arrival passengers underwent RT-PCR test at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai, on Wednesday (November 25). “None of the passengers tested positive,” said the Airport PRO on Thursday.
