Two men married each other on Thursday to appease the Rain Gods in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore. Sakaram and Rakesh got married to each other in front of their relatives. The wedding was done in accordance to the Hindu rituals and was performed by a priest. The two men also took the ‘saat phere’ of the hawan kund.

Their wives and kids were also present while the wedding was going on.

“There was no bride. Both Sakaram and Rakesh were grooms in this marriage. They tied the knot as a gesture to draw Indradev’s attention for good rain on Indore,” said Ramesh Singh Tomar,  organizer of the wedding.

Sakaram and Rakesh are labourers who work for Tomar, a water supplier.

“It gave me the idea of performing a marriage between two men as a gesture to please the gods for rainfall”, added Tomar.
