Intriguing trailer of Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Newton’ is finally out

The trailer of Rajkummar Rao’s upcoming Bollywood film, ‘Newton’ is finally out.

The movie is based on the life of a clerk placed on election duty in a conflict-affected area of Chhattisgarh.

As soon as the trailer was released, Rao took to his Twitter handle to share the news.

The trailer shows, Newton Kumar, a government clerk’s journey on election duty to a Naxal-controlled town in the conflict-ridden jungles of Chhattisgarh.

Faced with the apathy of security forces, he tries to conduct free and fair voting, despite the odds stacked against him, with the strong dialogue, “Till the time we don’t initiate a change, nothing will change” (Jab tak kuch nahi badloge na dost, Kuch nahi Badalega).

The film had its world premiere at Berlinale, won the Art Cinema award for the Forum section there and also went to 16th Annual Tribeca Film Festival.

Also starring Anjali Patel, the movie is slated for a release on 22 September.
