IPL 2026 Schedule: BCCI to Announce First 20 Days of Fixtures on March 12

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia said the IPL 2026 schedule for the first 20 days will be announced on March 12, while the rest of the fixtures will be revealed later.

IPL 2026 Schedule: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has shared a new update about the schedule for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. Devajit Saikia, who is the secretary of the BCCI, said that the board will soon release the match schedule for the start of the tournament.

According to Saikia, fans will first get the schedule for the first 20 days of the league. The announcement is expected to be made on March 12.

Speaking about the plan, Saikia said, “We plan to announce the IPL 2026 schedule by March 12. For now, we are going to announce the IPL schedule for the first 20 days.”

The 19th season of the IPL will take place from March 28 to May 31, 2026. Earlier the tournament window was expected to be from March 26 to May 30, but the dates were later adjusted slightly.

The full match list for the entire tournament will not come out immediately. Officials said the rest of the schedule will be shared later. The BCCI is waiting for the final dates of assembly elections in West Bengal, Assam and Tamil Nadu, which may affect match planning and venue security.

Teams Begin Preparations Before the Tournament

Even though the full schedule is still coming soon, IPL teams have already started preparing for the new season.

Chennai Super Kings, who have won the IPL five times, began their pre season training on March 1. Their practice session is happening at the High Performance Centre in Navalur. Team captain Ruturaj Gaikwad attended the training and former captain MS Dhoni was also present.

Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru also started their preparations earlier. They held a short training camp at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on February 10.

Gujarat Titans, who won the IPL title in 2022, have been practising at the Miraj International Cricket Stadium in Nathdwara as they prepare for the upcoming season.

Punjab Kings began their training in Abu Dhabi in early February. The team is now continuing its preparation with another camp in Dharamsala.

BCCI Adjusts IPL 2026 Fixtures Due to State Assembly Elections?

At the same time Sunrisers Hyderabad, who won the IPL in 2016, started a training camp on March 1. This camp currently includes their domestic players as the team gets ready for the tournament.

Five time champions Mumbai Indians have also begun their preparations for the new IPL season.

More Teams Set to Begin Practice Camps

Some teams are still getting ready to start their training programs in the coming days.

Rajasthan Royals will begin their practice camp in Jaipur from March 15. Meanwhile Kolkata Knight Riders are expected to start their preparation camp on March 18.

Delhi Capitals have already held a training camp in Hyderabad, while Lucknow Super Giants recently completed a practice session in Lucknow.
