IRCTC Food Overpricing on train: Indian Railways has started a new system to make train travel easier and fair for passengers. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation, also known as IRCTC, now gives special new uniforms to vendors who work on premium trains like Vande Bharat, Shatabdi, and Rajdhani.
These uniforms show helpline numbers so passengers can make complaints right away if something feels wrong. IRCTC says this step will help stop vendors from charging more than the real price for food or other items.

Jagran reported the it said this change started because IRCTC kept getting many complaints from people who said vendors charged extra money for food items during the journey. A senior IRCTC official explained that they hear these complaints every single day. He said the number of complaints should go down after the new rules start. He also asked passengers to check the price list before paying and to report any problem as soon as they see it.
Two QR Codes to Help Passengers with Prices
IRCTC has also given vendors a new card that carries two QR codes. These small codes will help passengers understand everything more clearly. The first QR code will show a full list of the correct rates for food and drinks.
This means every passenger can see the real price by scanning the code on their phone, and vendors cannot easily fool anyone with higher prices. The second QR code works only for digital payments.

Right now, this new system is running on Rajdhani and Vande Bharat trains. IRCTC plans to slowly bring it to more trains across the country. Passengers on other trains may also get this benefit soon once everything runs smoothly on the premium trains.
Railways Also Ban Blogging and Videography
In another new decision, Indian Railways has banned railway workers from making videos, blogs, or any type of social media content while they are on duty. The order came from the Principal Chief Operations Manager in Garden Reach, Kolkata.
The notice said activities like recording videos or taking photos during work break the rules of service and can risk safety and secret information. The order clearly said “blogging, videography, photography, or any type of recording for internet platforms is strictly prohibited” on all railway property. This includes stations, trains, offices, workshops, control rooms, yards, and any other restricted areas.
